Sleep Apnea & Snoring Treatment
What is Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment?
Sleep apnea is a serious sleep-related disorder that affects your ability to breathe freely at night. In some cases, snoring can be a sign that sleep apnea is present, but it may also exist on its own and be incredibly disruptive to your own sleep as well as those around you. We offer effective sleep apnea and snoring treatment that utilizes a flexible, comfortable mouth piece. This mouth piece works by keeping your airway open while you sleep, lessening sleep apnea symptoms and snoring.
Why might you need Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment?
If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea or if you snore continually throughout the night, it’s time to seek treatment. Sleep apnea has been linked to a number of medical ailments and diseases if left untreated, so proper treatment can improve the quality of your health. For patients who snore, a mouth piece that’s worn at night will help you to breathe easier without disrupting the sleep of those around you. Our customized mouth pieces are ideal for patients of all ages and needs.
What makes you a good candidate for Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment?
To be considered for sleep apnea and snoring treatment, it’s important to come into our office for a consultation and examination. Dr. Andrew Turchin will determine if you will benefit from a mouth piece, and if so, what you can expect when wearing it regularly. As with most other medical devices, the mouth piece is only effective for sleep apnea and snoring if it is worn each night. Many patients find that a mouth piece is more comfortable when treating sleep apnea in comparison to a CPAP machine.
What happens during the procedure for Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment?
Once you have had a consultation with Dr. Andrew Turchin to determine the best course of treatment, you’ll come in to have the mouth piece fitted for you. Impressions are made of your mouth and sent to a lab where the mouth piece will be made. You will come back into the office and have the mouth piece placed. This will help us determine if it is working properly and providing you with a comfortable fit. You need to wear the mouth piece nightly for it to be effective. You may need to come back in to have a new mouth piece made if you notice signs of wear and tear; however, you can expect the piece to last for many years without needing replacement.
If you have sleep apnea or a snoring problem and are looking for relief, call our office today and we will be more than happy to help schedule an appointment for you.
Patient Testimonials
I was suffering from sleep apnea for years without realizing the effects that it was having on my health. Not onlywas my heavy snoring and interrupted sleep effecting my over all well being, it was also taking a toll on mymarriage. My wife no longer wanted to sleep in the same room as me, and was constantly complaining of mysnoring which she described to be like the sound of a chainsaw. After coming to Dr. Turchin’s office to discussthe possibility of some kind of treatment that would allow me to stop snoring, Dr. Turchin suggested I have amouth appliance that would fit inside of my mouth, to help open up my airway and put an end to snoring. Withinthe first day of using this appliance, I not only woke up feeling refreshed and well rested, my wife excitedly toldme that I had not snored once. It has now been a few months, and I have noticed I no longer feel the need tonap every day, and that I have much more energy. My wife is also very grateful and relieved to be sleepingthrough the night without me waking her countless times. Over all, I am extremely happy with Dr. Turchin, hisexpertise and his wonderful staff that has not only given me back my energy, but has also saved my marriage.
